Xenotone: an initial defininition
Xenotone:
An overlapping zone of tension between physical and digital ecologies. It is where these two ecologies meet, multiply, compete, integrate and produce something other.
Xeno—
From Greek xenos, meaning “a guest, stranger, foreigner, one entitled to hospitality”. To be read in line with the Xenofeminist use of the term.
—tone
From Greek tonos, meaning “tension”. To be read in line with the notion of the ecotone—a transition zone between two adjacent ecologies.
