Welcome to Panopolis takes the form of a guide to an imaginary city that is constructed out of the thoughts, opinions and emotions of online users. The notes in the text are scraped from Twitter’s global stream of tweet data. As the reader explores the city, it becomes increasingly clear that – despite the apparent unpredictability of online data – a journey through Panopolis is highly constrained and ultimately deterministic.
